Acer has launched the Iconia Tab 8 tablet ahead of Computex that kicks off next week in Taiwan. The company announced that the tablet will be available starting Q3, but did not reveal its pricing.Indiaontech.com makes a detailed review with acer iconia
Apart from the Iconia Tab 8, Acer also launched five new smartphones, and a new smartband. These are the Acer Liquid E700, Acer Liquid E600, Acer Liquid Z200, Acer Liquid X1, and Acer Liquid Jade smartphones, and the Liquid Leap smartband.
The Acer Iconia Tab 8 runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box, and is the first tablet from the company to run the most recent version of the Android. The tablet features an 8-inch full-HD (1920x1200 pixels) IPS display and comes with Zero Air Gap technology.
The tablet also features what the company calls Acer Touch WakeApp, which lets users quickly wake up the Iconia Tab 8 with a touch gesture.
The new tablet from Acer is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom Z3745 processor (unspecified clock speed) coupled with a 2GB of RAM. The Iconia Tab 8 sports a 5-megapixel rear camera, while a 2-megapixel front camera is also onboard. The tablet comes in two storage variants - 16GB and 32GB, while it also supports expandable storage via microSD card.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Micro-USB. The tablet measures 8.5mm thick and weighs 360 grams.
